Accessibility statement
1. Introduction
COLUMBUS is committed to making its website and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the legal requirements. The basis for this is the Austrian Federal Disability Equality Act (BBG) as well as the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) in conjunction with the Web Accessibility Regulation (WZV). These regulations implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies and Directive (EU) 2019/882 on accessibility requirements for products and services into Austrian law.
The technical measures are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.2, at conformance levels A and AA.
This accessibility statement applies to the website columbus.at
2. Current level of accessibility
This website is partially compliant, as not all accessibility requirements are fully met.
3. Non-accessible content
a) Technical barriers
iFrames without titles: Embedded content such as maps or external videos do not contain descriptive titles for screen readers.
iFrames from third-party providers: These elements originate from external services and do not always comply with accessibility standards – adjustments are beyond our control.
Incomplete HTML structure: For example, <h1> headings are not used consistently, or form fields are not correctly associated with <label> elements.
c) Colour and design issues
Limited scalability during text enlargement:
When text is significantly enlarged without changing the window size, overlaps or incomplete display may occur. Navigation areas and interactive elements such as forms are particularly affected. These issues are scheduled to be addressed. As part of future layout optimisation, the presentation at high zoom levels will be improved to ensure unrestricted usability.
